In Between, the newest record from singer-songwriter John Kelly, features ten original songs that explore love, hate, and the space in between. Produced by Rusty Speidel, the record features an outstanding array of musicians including Speidel (Speidel, Goodrich, Goggin and Lille, Kingdom of Mustang); Michael Clem (Eddie From Ohio) on bass; Paul Rosner (Trees on Fire, Bobby Midnight Band) on drums;, Michael Lille (Speidel, Goodrich, Goggin and Lille, The Sherpas) contributing on lead guitar and banjo; and Nate Leath (Love Canon) on fiddle. A special heartfelt thanks goes out to Chris Holden, whose keyboard skills and keen ear for what these songs needed shines throughout.

“This record was two years in the making,” Kelly said, “and I’m really proud of it and really excited to share it with people. It is the result of an extraordinary collaboration with Rusty Speidel, who took this project on as his own, guided and shaped it, and helped me see what the songs could be.”

“What really drew me to this project were the songs and my friendship with John,” says Speidel. “He is a very thoughtful person, and the songs explore the full range of human emotions—love, hate, war, loss, hope, and family. My goal was to keep the album very human as a result. We used very few computer sounds, kept the production tricks to a minimum, and let the songs and musicians speak for themselves.“

Kelly’s previous record, Brighter Days, was produced by longtime friend and acclaimed producer, writer, performer, and arranger Rob Mathes.

In Between is available on all major streaming platforms.
